Deborah Houseworth, EAMP
During her 23 years as a family practitioner, Deborah has honed her skills in the treatment of the many conditions helped by East Asian medicine. Among these: chronic pain, neurological disorders, headaches, anxiety, depression and other common complaints. Deborah has also developed a specialty in women’s health, offering wellness care and support for health challenges from menarche to menopause. Deborah Houseworth completed her premedical studies, graduating magna cum laude from Bryn Mawr College, with a major in Religion. Studying world religions and philosophies in college led to an exploration of different healing modalities around the world. She knew, the moment she stepped into the office of a Chinese herbalist in Chicago's Chinatown, that this was where her career was headed. She graduated in 1994 with a Masters in Acupuncture from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NIAOM) in Seattle, obtaining her license to pratice East Asian medicine in Seattle that same year. Her masters thesis was on the treatment of depression with acupuncture. Desiring to hone her skills as an herbalist, she completed specialized training, obtaining a certificate in herbal studies at NIAOM in Seattle in 2000. Deborah completed a certificate course in QEEG Neurofeedback in 2005. She completed a certificate program in the treatment of infertility at the Jade Institute in Seattle in 2008. To further assist her in providing holistic services to patients, Deborah Houseworth became certifed as a counselor in Seattle in 2010. She is activley engaged in furthering her knowledge through ongoing study and attending seminars and conferences.
